There are many reasons why someone might need to reschedule an IdentoGO appointment. Common situations include work conflicts, illness, transportation issues, family emergencies, weather conditions, or simply realizing you booked the wrong time slot. The good news is that IdentoGO recognizes these situations happen and has procedures in place to allow people to modify their appointments. Understanding how rescheduling works can help reduce stress and prevent unnecessary cancellations.

Before diving into the rescheduling process, it's important to know what information you'll need on hand. You should have your appointment confirmation number, which typically appears in your confirmation email. You'll also want to know your full name, date of birth, and the state where you originally booked your appointment. Having this information ready before you contact IdentoGO will make the rescheduling process move more smoothly.

Practical Takeaway: Keep your IdentoGO confirmation email in a safe place. Write down your confirmation number somewhere you can find it quickly. This single piece of information is your key to making changes to your appointment.

How to Reschedule Online Through the IdentoGO Website

The fastest way to reschedule an IdentoGO appointment is through the official IdentoGO website. IdentoGO allows people to manage many aspects of their appointments online without needing to call or visit a center in person. To reschedule online, start by going to the IdentoGO website and looking for the appointment management section. This is typically found on the homepage under options like "Manage Your Appointment" or "Schedule/Reschedule."

Once you're in the appointment management area, you'll be asked to enter your confirmation number. This is the unique code sent to you when you first scheduled your appointment. You can find this number in your confirmation email. After entering your confirmation number, you may also need to verify additional information such as your date of birth or the phone number associated with your appointment. This verification step ensures that only the person who scheduled the appointment can make changes to it.

After you've verified your identity, the system will display your current appointment details, including the date, time, and location. You'll then see options to select a new date and time. The available time slots will vary depending on which IdentoGO center you're using and how busy they are during different times. Centers in larger cities often have more frequent appointment slots available, while smaller locations may have fewer options. It's a good idea to check several dates and times to find what works best for your schedule.

One important note: the online rescheduling system typically only allows changes up to a certain point before your appointment. Most IdentoGO centers allow online rescheduling until 24 hours before your scheduled appointment time. If your appointment is less than 24 hours away, you may need to use other methods to reschedule, which we'll discuss in the following sections.

Practical Takeaway: Try rescheduling online first—it's the quickest method and requires no phone calls or waiting. Save your new confirmation number once the reschedule is complete.

Rescheduling by Phone: When and How to Call

If you cannot reschedule your appointment online, or if your appointment is within 24 hours, you can contact IdentoGO by phone. IdentoGO operates a customer service line where representatives can help you modify your appointment. To find the correct phone number, visit the official IdentoGO website and look for the "Contact Us" section. Make sure you're calling the official IdentoGO number and not a third-party service, as scams do exist online.

When you call IdentoGO customer service, have your confirmation number ready. This will allow the representative to pull up your appointment quickly and make changes without delay. Be prepared to verify your identity by providing your full name, date of birth, and the phone number or email associated with your appointment. The representative will ask these questions for security purposes. Phone wait times can vary—during busy times like mornings or weekday business hours, you may wait longer than during off-peak times like early evenings or weekends.

According to customer service data, IdentoGO's average phone call wait time ranges from 5 to 20 minutes during peak hours, though this can be longer during tax season (when many people need fingerprints for tax-related purposes) or at the beginning of each month. If you reach a long wait time, you have the option to request a callback. This means you give the system your phone number, and a representative calls you back when it's your turn, rather than sitting on hold.

When speaking with the representative, clearly explain why you need to reschedule and provide your preferred new date and time. The representative will let you know what times are available at your chosen center. If your preferred time slot isn't available, ask what times are open nearest to what you need. Once you've selected a new appointment time, the representative will confirm the details and provide you with a new confirmation number. Write this down and request a confirmation email be sent to your email address.

Practical Takeaway: Call during less busy times (late afternoon or weekends) to reduce wait times. Always write down your new confirmation number and ask for an email confirmation before ending the call.

Rescheduling by Visiting an IdentoGO Center in Person

Another option for rescheduling is to visit an IdentoGO enrollment center in person. This method works best if you have time before your current appointment and can visit a center during their operating hours. Most IdentoGO centers are located in UPS stores, pharmacies, or other retail locations, making them relatively easy to access in many communities. To find the center nearest you, use the location search tool on the IdentoGO website by entering your zip code or city name.

When you arrive at an IdentoGO center, speak with the staff member at the desk and explain that you need to reschedule an existing appointment. Bring your confirmation email or have your confirmation number written down. The staff member will access your appointment information and show you available time slots at that location. This method has advantages because you can see the calendar in real time and understand exactly when you're booking. Additionally, if you discover your original appointment details were incorrect, the staff can correct them while you're there.

One thing to understand about in-person rescheduling: it only works at IdentoGO centers, not at regular UPS stores or pharmacies where the center happens to be located. Make sure you're visiting the actual IdentoGO enrollment section, not just the general customer service desk. Hours vary by location. According to IdentoGO's service data, most centers operate Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with some locations open on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. However, some centers have different hours, so check before you go.

In-person rescheduling typically takes 10 to 15 minutes, assuming there's no line ahead of you. Request a written confirmation receipt with your new appointment details and confirmation number. If the center cannot print this, ask for the staff member's name and note the date and time you rescheduled, along with your new appointment information.

Practical Takeaway: Visit a center in person if you need to see available times immediately or if you want to fix other details about your appointment at the same time. Always ask for a written receipt of your rescheduled appointment.

Important Deadlines and Limitations You Should Know

IdentoGO has specific policies about when you can reschedule, and understanding these policies can help you avoid problems. Most importantly, you can typically reschedule an appointment up until 24 hours before the scheduled time. This means if your appointment is tomorrow, you may not
