The series was created by Dallas Jenkins and is produced through The Chosen Studios. Each season contains multiple episodes that build on the narratives of Jesus's followers, exploring their backgrounds, struggles, and spiritual journeys. The show combines historical context with modern filmmaking techniques, making the content accessible to contemporary audiences. Season 1 introduced the core disciples, Season 2 expanded their individual stories, and subsequent seasons continue developing character arcs and introducing new biblical figures.

The Chosen has been distributed through various platforms over time. Initially, the series was primarily available through The Chosen's official app and website. Since then, streaming partnerships have expanded the availability of episodes across multiple platforms. This expansion means that viewers have several legitimate options for watching the series, depending on their preferences and existing streaming subscriptions.

Understanding the legitimate streaming landscape matters because it ensures you're viewing content through authorized channels that support the creators. Unauthorized streaming sites pose risks including malware, poor video quality, and lack of support for the production team. By exploring official platforms, viewers contribute to the continuation of quality television production while maintaining their digital security.

Practical Takeaway: Start by visiting the official Chosen app or website to understand the full range of content available, then explore which additional streaming services offer the series in your region. This gives you a complete picture of your viewing options.

The creators maintain their own app and website specifically designed for distributing their content. This platform offers several advantages, including priority access to new episodes, behind-the-scenes content, and production updates that other streaming services may not carry.

The official platform offers several content options. Completed seasons are generally available to stream, with new episodes released according to the production schedule. The platform frequently includes bonus material such as interviews with cast and crew, production diaries, and background information about biblical stories depicted in the series. Some bonus content requires a subscription, while other material may be offered at no charge. The specific offerings can vary based on your region and subscription status.

The official Chosen app offers a tiered approach to content. Certain seasons or episodes are sometimes available to stream without payment. The creators periodically offer free access to specific content to introduce new viewers to the series. Some bonus materials and behind-the-scenes content are also offered for free on the official platform. However, the most current seasons typically require a subscription fee. The official app usually displays which episodes are free and which require payment, making it clear before you attempt to stream.

Subscription costs on the official platform are generally modest compared to major streaming services. Annual subscriptions often cost less per month than typical cable television bills. The platform sometimes offers promotional periods where new subscribers receive discounted rates for their first month or several months. Buffering and playback interruptions are among the most common issues. These typically result from internet connection speed or stability problems rather than problems with the platform itself. If you experience buffering, first check your internet connection by running a speed test on a separate device. Most streaming requires a minimum of 5 megabits per second for standard quality and 25 megabits per second for high definition. If your speed is adequate, try closing other apps and devices that are using your network. Moving closer to your Wi-Fi router or switching to a wired connection if possible can also improve performance. Restarting the streaming app or device often resolves temporary connection glitches.
