Freedom Mortgage operates through multiple contact channels to serve different customer needs. The company maintains a customer service department that handles inquiries throughout business hours. Different departments within the company handle different types of requests—some handle loan servicing questions, others handle new loan inquiries, and some handle specific issues like payment processing or account modifications.

The main corporate headquarters for Freedom Mortgage is located in Jersey City, New Jersey. This location serves as the central point for company operations, though the company maintains offices and operations centers in multiple states across the country. Knowing the main headquarters location can be useful if you need to send written correspondence or understand where the company's central decision-making happens.

One important thing to understand about contacting Freedom Mortgage is that different issues require different contact methods. A question about payment arrangements might be handled through phone customer service, while a formal complaint might need to be submitted in writing or through specific regulatory channels. A mortgage pre-qualification inquiry might start through the website, while an existing customer with a servicing question might call an account representative.

Practical Takeaway: Before contacting Freedom Mortgage, identify which department or service you need to reach. Whether you're a current customer with a loan servicing question, someone interested in learning about mortgages, or someone with a complaint, having clarity about your reason for contacting them will help you reach the right department more efficiently.

Phone Contact Information and Customer Service Lines

Freedom Mortgage operates customer service phone lines during standard business hours. The main customer service number for existing borrowers is 1-800-273-1818. This number connects callers to representatives who can discuss loan servicing, payment questions, account information, and other matters related to existing mortgages. The phone line is typically available Monday through Friday during business hours, though specific hours may vary by season and company operations.

For individuals interested in learning about new mortgage loans or refinancing options, Freedom Mortgage maintains a separate line for loan officers and originators. This number is typically 1-800-273-1818 as well, though callers can ask to be transferred to the appropriate department. When calling about new loans, be prepared to discuss your general financial situation, the type of property you're interested in, and what information you're seeking about mortgage options.

When you call Freedom Mortgage's customer service line, you should have certain information readily available. If you're calling about an existing loan, have your loan number handy—this helps representatives locate your account quickly. If you're calling about a new loan, having information about the property, your approximate down payment amount, and your timeline can help the conversation move more smoothly. The company's automated systems may ask for account numbers or other identifying information before connecting you to a representative.

Wait times for customer service calls can vary significantly depending on the time of day and day of the week. Generally, calling earlier in the business week and earlier in the day may result in shorter wait times. If you reach an automated system, listen carefully to menu options—many issues can be resolved through the automated system without waiting for a representative, such as making a payment or checking basic account information.

Phone representatives at Freedom Mortgage can discuss various matters including monthly payment amounts, loan terms, refinancing options, modification programs for borrowers experiencing difficulty, and general information about the mortgage process. However, representatives cannot make changes to your account based solely on phone conversations—significant changes typically require written verification or submission through the company's online systems.

Practical Takeaway: Have your loan number or identifying information ready before calling Freedom Mortgage. Call during early business hours on weekdays if possible to minimize wait times. Be clear about whether you're calling about an existing loan or seeking information about new mortgage products.

Online Contact Options and Digital Communication

Freedom Mortgage maintains a website at freedommortgage.com where customers and potential borrowers can find information and access online tools. The website includes general information about mortgage products, rates and terms information, and educational resources about the mortgage process. Existing customers can often log into an online portal through the website to view their loan information, make payments, and communicate with the company through secure messaging systems.

The online customer portal is a significant resource for existing borrowers. Through this portal, customers can typically view their loan balance, see upcoming payment due dates, review transaction history, and calculate remaining payoff amounts. Many customers also use the online portal to make payments directly, set up automatic payments, or request modifications to their loan. The portal usually requires a username and password to access, and new customers may need to register their account to use it.

Secure messaging through the online portal represents an alternative to phone contact that some customers prefer. Through this system, you can send a message to your loan servicer with questions or requests, and a representative will typically respond within one to two business days. This method creates a written record of your communication and can be useful for questions that aren't urgent. Secure messaging is particularly valuable for customers who have difficulty reaching phone representatives or who prefer written communication.

Freedom Mortgage's website also provides contact forms for different types of inquiries. Visitors can typically find forms for loan inquiries, general questions, complaints, or other matters. These forms usually ask you to provide your name, contact information, the general nature of your inquiry, and any details you want to share. After submitting a form, the company typically responds within a specified timeframe, often two to five business days depending on the complexity of your inquiry.

Social media channels may also provide a way to contact Freedom Mortgage, though these are typically monitored less frequently than phone lines or customer portals. Some customers have success using Facebook or Twitter to report issues or request assistance, though urgent matters should always be handled through phone or official contact methods rather than social media.

Practical Takeaway: Register for Freedom Mortgage's online portal if you're a current customer to view your account information anytime. Use secure messaging for non-urgent questions that benefit from written documentation. Visit the website to download forms or find specific contact information for your particular need.

Mail and Written Correspondence

For formal written communication with Freedom Mortgage, the company provides a mailing address. The main mailing address for Freedom Mortgage is typically listed as P.O. Box 4008, Jersey City, New Jersey 07310-4008. However, Freedom Mortgage maintains multiple processing centers and offices, so depending on your specific need, different departments may have different mailing addresses. Always verify the correct mailing address for your specific type of correspondence before sending anything, as sending mail to the wrong address can delay processing.

Written correspondence is important for certain types of communication. If you're submitting a formal dispute, a complaint about your account, or documentation required for loan modifications, sending a written letter with tracking provides proof that the company received your communication. This creates a paper trail that can be valuable if issues arise. Many loan modification requests, hardship letters, and formal complaints should be submitted in writing rather than handled only through phone conversations.

When sending mail to Freedom Mortgage, use certified mail with return receipt requested for important documents. This provides proof that the company received your letter on a specific date. Keep copies of everything you send. If you're submitting financial documents or other sensitive information, consider using certified mail rather than regular mail for security reasons. Write your account number or loan number clearly at the top of any correspondence so the mail can be routed to the correct department.

Different departments may handle different types of written correspondence. Loan modification requests typically go to a specific department, payment disputes to another, and formal complaints to yet another area. Before sending important written correspondence, contact Freedom Mortgage by phone or through their website to confirm you're sending your letter to the correct address and department. This small step can prevent your letter from being delayed or misrouted.

Processing times for written correspondence typically take longer than phone contact—usually two to four weeks depending on the complexity of your request and current mail volume. If you need faster communication, phone contact or online secure messaging may be better options. However, for documentation that requires a written record, the slower processing time is often worth the delay for the added security and proof of communication.

Practical Takeaway: Use certified mail when sending important documents or formal requests to Freedom Mortgage.
